The Bharatmala-2 project was also discussed during the meeting.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) chairperson Alka Upadhyay was on a visit to Patna on Tuesday. During this he reviewed various ongoing projects under NHAI in Bihar. After this, he met Bihar’s Road Construction Department Minister Nitin Naveen in his office.

During the meeting, the Hon’ble Minister said that the construction work of the projects in which the land acquisition has been completed, should be started soon. Alka Upadhyay said that the tender for the 3 groups that have been acquired land has been issued and the tender in the remaining 6 groups will be issued by next month.

Bharatmala-2 project also discussed

The Bharatmala-2 project was also discussed during the meeting. During this, Minister Nitin Naveen talked about the extension of Purvanchal Expressway to Bhagalpur, on which the President of NHAI assured to take positive action. During this discussion, it was also agreed to approve the road drawing of the Raxaul-Patna-Haldia road at the earliest before the state government.

Request to invite tender by preparing DPR

In the course of discussion, a request was made by Nitin Naveen to invite tender by preparing DPRs of Patna-Ara-Sasaram, Areraj-Bettiah, Mokama-Munger and Buxar-Hydaria at the earliest. Alka Upadhyay assured that after preparing the DPR of this scheme, the tender will be issued this year.

Inspection of newly built command and control center

The newly built Command and Control Center of the Road Construction Department was also inspected by NHAI President Alka Upadhyay. He was told that this system would work on all smartphones through a mobile app. Through this dashboard, all the information of the construction department will be available at one place on real-time basis.

Ganga Path was also inspected

The NHAI President was very impressed with this center and dashboard of the Road Construction Department and praised the Road Construction Department for this. After this he also inspected the Ganga path and saw the ongoing works there and was very impressed by it.
